PAINTING CONSERVATION

Wakefield Cathedral

Cleaning the medieval painted central aisle ceiling.

Alex was involved with the careful cleaning of three major painted ceilings within the Cathedral removing many years of black soot. In addition there was minor consolidation of the wood and surface paint film received consolidation.

Areas where water damage had caused the deterioration of certain areas were also retouched so that the disfigurement from the ground did not show.
