JW Evans Silversmiths: English Heritage

JW Evans was a family run business from 1881 - 2008 within the jewellery quarter of Birmingham, consisting of four terraced houses and workshops.

​

It is a unique and complete record of a family run business and an important part of social history. The whole collection of wall coverings and surface finishes has been restored in situ.

​

This was not a case of removing unsightly applications and previous restorations, but carefully preserving everything as found as English Heritage set out. The result is the impression of an untouched interior.
